The Terminal Area Simulation System (TASS) is MESO’s cloud-scale model. It is a three-dimensional, non-hydrostatic, numerical model. Many of the features of TASS are included in MASS 6.0.
The Operational Multi-scale Environment model with Grid Adaptivity (OMEGA) is a unique non-hydrostatic model that was a product of the combined efforts of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and MESO. OMEGA is unique because it has a flexible nonstructured grid eliminating the need for nesting runs to achieve high resolution.
MESO also uses the NCAR/PENN State model (MM5) for comparative model studies or customer preference. NEW: See MESO's Real Time daily MM5 Output for Eastern U.S. at 45 and 15 Km Resolution
MESO has developed a unique method to create high resolution climate statistics given the name CLImate statistics by a dynamical MODel (CLIMOD). CLIMOD is a system designed to use output from the MASS model (or any mesoscale model) to produce high resolution 3-D gridded climatologies for data sparse locations.
At a customers request, MESO Inc. will setup and deliver complete hardware/software mesoscale modeling systems for real-time simulation and research. The model can be configured to virtually any platform from a Pentium PC to a UNIX/Linux based workstation.
