MESO Inc. has used its suite of models to perform studies that strive to enhance the weather forecasting capability of mesocale models. MESO also performs studies to determine how such improvement will benefit various industries.

One example of this research is improving temperature forecasts for use in electrical energy consumption predication models. Extensive research has been done to determine which model configuration and moisture physics options are best for capturing such features as the heat island effect, local wind circulations, and small scale migratory features.
