Climate Simulations

Our customers often need to have information about past weather conditions, climate statistics and probabilities of weather events for locations where there are no weather observations. Another problem for our customers is finding this information for variables that are not trationally measured. If you have either of these problems, MESO has the solution!

Using:

  • High resolution advanced databases of the earth
  • All available historical direct in-place observational data of the atmosphere
  • All past available remote sensed atmospheric data from satellites, radar, and profilers
  • Advanced models based upon the physical laws that govern the behavior of the atmosphere

MESO has developed a unique system that allows us to recreate the historical conditions and derive climate statistics that are of the same accuracy and quality as those derived for sites with observations. This can be done for any region or point location in the world. This advanced modeling system uses all the available data and the laws of physics to, in effect, create an array of virtual sensors at any desired point location any place they are needed around the globe.

Because this system is based upon the physical laws of nature, it has the advantage over using observations alone in that it can produce climate statistics for many nontraditional hard to measure elements, including information on soil moisture, solar radiation, hazards to aircraft and tramission quality of the various band of EM wave transmission. If you can conceive of an element related to the atmosphere, the surface of the earth, or ocean that you need statistics on, we can provide it. This data can be provided on maps, as gridded data for applications such as GIS, and for individual points.

Below are examples of only some of the climate data products that can be produced:

  • Regional maps of mean climate data for the mean basic weather
  • Regional maps of extreme climate data for the mean basic weather
  • Surface, soil and hydrological related climate data
  • Climate data for unique products and requirements
  • Hour-by-hour, historical scenarios of daily weather
  • Climate summaries for specific point locations
